T-4 days until Thanksgiving! If you’re still looking for a festive drink to serve, consider making a batch of hot, spiced honey whisky apple cider. This drink is similar to a classic Hot Toddy, but is a little sweeter and spicier—perfect for fall! The recipe below makes four cocktails, but you could easily double the batch if needed.
Prep: 5 minutes | Total Cook Time: 5 minutes | Yield: 4 cocktails
Ingredients:
- 4 cups apple cider
- 4 shots (6 oz.) honey whisky
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 lemon
- 5 cinnamon sticks
Directions:
- Add apple cider, lemon juice, honey and one cinnamon stick to a pot. Cover pot and heat on medium heat until it reaches a boil. Remove from heat and add honey whisky. Stir well.
- Pour cocktail into hot toddy mugs or coffee mugs and garnish each with a thinly sliced lemon and/or a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.
Tip: If you’re planning to make a larger batch, try adding the apple cider, lemon juice, honey and one or two cinnamon sticks to a Crock-Pot and heat on low for two to three hours. Turn to warm when ready to serve and add honey whisky. Stir well. Garnish with lemon slices and/or cinnamon sticks if desired.
